The stretch of the Krka river, is a pure chalk stream with both brown and rainbow trout prevailing. It runs through lush water meadows in a part of Slovenia called Dolenjska. It is a river of small waterfalls, fast runs and some deep pool making in an excellent habitat for large trout. The medium sized trout of the Krka are plentiful and not over selective, however, the river holds some fine specimen fish, it is a pity that the fishermen do not make the effort to discover these trophy fish for they are not that rare.

The Krka is famed for its prolific hatches of many species os sedge. Evenings the best time for catching the largest of the trout, though good sport can be had throughout the day. Early in the season wet fly any nymph usually bring the best results, during the summer months the fishing becomes more difficult as it does on any river, testing the very best of fishermen.
'he Krka is easily accessible along the entire length of the stretch . Care must be taken whilst wading due to the nature of the limestone boulders in the river, quite often they break under the weight of the angler, but a ducking is a small price to pay for some of the finest trout fishing in Slovenia.
